Once there was a little girl named Angel
who lived on a mountain.
She was so lucky—
she woke up to the sunshine and the chirping of birds,
and at night, she fell asleep listening to the symphony of crickets,
accompanied by the rustling of leaves played by the wind.
One night, Angel had a dream.
A beautiful girl visited her, inviting her on a trip to her world.
Angel was mesmerized by her, and the girl was shaped like a fish.
The girl in the dream had a tail just like a fish, in a vibrant hue.
“I am a mermaid and I live in the sea. Join me, Angel. Let me take you
to the wonders of my world,”
the mermaid said.
Little Angel clapped and jumped with joy.
She giggled and cried,
“I want to join you, Mermaid! Tell me, where do you live?”
“I live far, deep in the ocean, in a beautiful castle,”
the mermaid replied in her sweet voice.
“Oh, Mermaid! I can’t wait! But let me ask my parents first,”
Angel said eagerly.
“Of course, Angel. I can wait,” the mermaid smiled.
This is one of those rhymes I would think up when Gauri got cranky. But lately, she’s complaining that my stories and songs aren’t interesting.
Whew! It’s finally hit me—she’s turned into a teen. It’s high time I step up my game to keep up with her growing world!
